Hinduism: Analytical Study is intended to serve as a base book for the scholars and also general readers. Hinduism has been analysed from a rational and realistic perspective. Consisting of ton chapters, the book attempts to delineate the abiding essentials of Hinduism and interprets them as the formative forces of life, which can pave the way towards perfection.
The first five chapters viz. Introduction, Scriptures of Hinduism, God in Hinduism, Hindu Social and Moral Philosophy, Hindu Philosophy are concerned with the metaphysical aspect of the Hindu Philosophy. The other five chapters, viz. Spiritual Disciplines, The Hindu Way of Life, Hindu Shrines, Temples and Festivals, Reformers of Hinduism and the Conclusion are the empirical aspects of the Hinduism.
The Hinduism is an integral religion embracing every aspect of our life. Hindu Dharma is said to be eternal and has no founder. Eternal religion or Sanatana Dharma does not mean a particular set of doctrines and dogmas which we have to accept and believe in, but it implies 'the science of soul' which explains our true nature and helps us solve the problems of our life and death.
We are normally prone to see the wood for the trees. The authors have therefore turned the vast scope of Hinduism into a systematic and scientific study where it transcends rigid dogmas and narrow sectarianism. It is earnestly hoped that this book on Sanatana Dharma (eternal roligion) will be able to provide real insight and knowledge of Hinduism and help awaken the spirit of Manava Dharma or religion of humanity.

This work Hinduism: Analytical Study is only a base outline of Hindu religion and philosophy. It is being written with the reorientations in studying the Hinduism and analysing it from a rational and empirical perspective. The attempt is made to cover all aspects of Hinduism precisely in lucid language.
We live in an age when creeds are shaken, dogmas are questioned and traditions are being dissolved. The Hindu religion with its emphasis on the experience of Reality in both its theoretical and its practical aspects is appealing very much to the modern mind.
We wish to record our feeling of indebtedness to Prof. Dr. S. R. Talghatti. Department of Philosophy, Poona University, for his valuable guidance.
We are highly obliged to our well wishers Prof. S. C. Srivastava and Sri D. C. Patnaik for their sincere help.. Besides, we are very much thankful to Jaykar Library, Poona, DAV College Library. Koraput for providing all the materials for our work.
This book, Hinduism: Analytical Study provides comprehensive ideas regarding the different aspects of Hindu religion. Is Hinduism something to talk about, to argue over, to belong to, to feel good about, or something to be, to live a way of life all these are analysed very systematically in this book.
The book is organised into ten chapters, the authors Interpret them as all that Hinduism means and stand for, with a view to unfolding the essential elements of Hinduism.
It is clear to note that the Hinduism is not a set of abstract philosophical theories unrelated to life, nor bundle of religious dogmas to be accepted on faith. But Hinduism combines religion, morality. philosophy and faith with reasons. Philosophy becomes an approach through intellect, and religion through feelings and heart. Both are necessary to discover ultimate truth. Its truths are not the product of human mind, but were discovered by the great illumined seers and reformers of India, who have given the spiritual insight to face problems of life.
It is a well-written book which is the outcome of author's deep thinking, painstaking work, and thorough grasp of the subject. This book is invaluable for those desiring a better understanding of Hindu philosophy and religion. I have studied also the other noteworthy books of the authors. Dr. Mohapatra, an author of the repute, is one of the best educated religious men I have ever met personally in India and I am proud of it.
