It gives me immense pleasure in contributing a I foreword for English version of the original text in Hindi titled Shri Bhaijee-Ek Alaukik Vibhooti", which is compiled by the Late Gambhirchandji Dujari a very close associate and fully devoted person to his mentor - Bhaijee, Shri Hanuman Prasad Poddar. It was later compiled and assembled by his able son Late Shyam Sundarji Dujari and was published by Gita Vatika Prakashan in the year 2000 at Gorakhpur. The present English version has been accomplished by Prof. O.P. Gupta, who is very well known to me and had also worked as Head, Department of Zoology, Dr. H.S. Gour University, Sagar, during my tenure as the Vice Chancellor (2004-2008). To write anything about Bhaijee Shri Hanuman Prasad Poddar and Sethji Shri Jaidayal Goyandka is extremely difficult. The founder editor of 'Kalyan" and Kalyan Kalpatru, Shri Bhaijee and the man behind the Gita Press, Shri Sethji have made substantial contribution for promoting the Indian culture. We are indebted to them for the work they have manifested to the humanity. Perhaps, Radha Baba could understand the divine status of Bhaijee during his life. This version contains an ascendant amount of matter by Baba. The meeting of Bhaijee with divine sage Narad and the great sage Angira is also another unique event to the spiritual world. Some events included in the Preface.
About the impact of divinity on life and work of Dr. Gupta are also interesting. There has also been demand by non-Hindi-speaking devotees for the English translation of its famous Hindi version 'Shri Bhaijee - Ek Alaukik Vibhooti The philosophy of life of an ascetic: successful in evocation of savour (Ras-siddha-sant) Shri Bhaijee: Hanuman Prasad Poddar and an eminent ascetic Shri Sethji: Shri Jaidayal Goyandka, compiled and assembled by Late S.S. Dujari, which includes fascinating contents on Hindu religion and spiritualism. An important thing of English version is also the translation of various Sanskrit words, couplets, Hindi quatrains and verses of devotional poetry into English, which are given in its Hindi version. Inclusion of various technical/ special words in English version would help the readers to intact with the real soul of its Hindi version.
feel it equally important to mention the necessary details in this section Labout the reason, condition and necessity to accept and accomplish this assignment for such a unique saint of this age, who could be understood in real sense after his heavenly departure only by this universal community Earnest readers would find some of the topics of this book so impressive that they cannot be left unaffected by them. For example, this text also contains an abundant amount of correspondence between Shri Radha Baba and Bhaijee, which is a unique information for spiritual devotees.
But, before we proceed further, here are a few lines about my earlier life which has also moulded my mind towards spirituality. My childhood is passed in a native town of birth, known as Mauranipur in District Jhansi of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. I had been a favourite child for my late paternal aunt Kanchan Bua, who had become widow at a very young age and, hence, I got ample opportunities to accompany her during her visits to join the assembly of virtuous people (satsang) or to listen to the discourses by saints (pravachan) or to join the celebration of devotional songs (sankirtan), etc. It had caused a strong impact on my mental attitude and led me towards religious practices. In addition, my mother Late Durga Bai was a very simple and pious lady and was in regular habit to put lamps made of wheat flour, with butter therein below Pipal tree near Hanuman temple and I had to always join her for this ritual, being an eldest son. On the completion of my doctoral work, my teacher Prof. R.K. Shrivastava had helped and initiated me first time to begin with the devoted striving (sadhna) of Gayatri. There was a time when I did Gayatri Yagya daily in the morning without a single break, for six months. During 1969 to 1974, I was in close contact with a physician Late Dr. S.P. Sharma, a religious person and an ardent devotee of Goddess Durga. Due to his company, I had also an opportunity to meet saints and another highly realised ascetic late Shivram Deolia, who had also guided me for spiritual practices. A lot of saints with high caliber used to visit the clinic and residence of Dr. Sharma and I was fortunate to meet and obtained blessings coupled with spiritual guidance by them.
