The Present work is the fruit of some of the vital and basic clues and pointers which discovered in the extensive and intensive research on Begums of awadh Kingdom-a Kingdom which was first raised from a subah to a kingdom by the English East India Company and later annexed by Dalhousie on the basis of misrule, disorder and impoverished thereby, due to "weak and irresponsible rulers". This policy was the culmination of wellesely's policy of annexation through the subsidiary alliance. The conquest and defeat of a country is a political affair and arises out of ambition, capability, expediency and sometimes sheer brutal and animistic instinct. But the basic clues and pointers of a certain nation which loom large in my study, is that the English who based on the glory of a civilised, constitutional and superior pax Brittanica, who presumed itself as the setters of an example- as in the case of French revolution- failed to be as such in reality.
