Traditionally it used to be the female folk that evinced more care for its hair but that age is now long past. In a world that is becoming increasingly 'gender-free' at least in appearances with famous male celebrities sporting ponytails and renowned actresses preferring 'crew-cuts'-any book on hair-care is not supposed to cater only one gender group. Hence this book is unique in the sense that it tries to analyse and offer solutions to also basically male hair problems like dandruff, thinning and hair-loss. An attempt has also been made to offer scientific causes and physio- psychological explanations to certain hair maladies.
Various modern 'hair-dos' and ancient 'kesh-vinyas' have also been illustrated with a view to offering a wide choice before our readers. Much emphasis has been placed on 'home-made' solutions to the hair-problems since they have successfully withstood the test of time. Hence, it can be claimed that no dimension of hair-care has been left uncovered in this book. Moreover, hair has been dealt not in exclusivity but as a part of the organic whole of human personality. It is hoped that our discerning readership would give this work a warm welcome. The author is particularly grateful to Mr. Narendra Kumar, Managing Director of Diamond Pocket Books, for providing every freedom and help in the compilation of this book.
