Practicing forestry in past was a subject matter of those working in department of forestry. However, with the increase in environmental awareness and understanding the amount of return which a forest enterprise can yield, common people are also showing their interest in forestry. Thus more and more forest colleges and departments are being opened in different universities and institutions. The increase in strength of departments and colleges imparting forestry education signifies a positive trend toward forest enterprise. However, the indigenous literature on forestry is still far from sufficient.
