Jemma lives in North London.

Since Sonal was a young girl, she has always loved Krishna. In this book, she wanted to make the magic of his words in the Gita come alive in an engaging way, which children from all backgrounds could use as a living, breathing and practical guide to help them navigate through modern life. She has been a disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda for over 25 years and cites his teachings as her inspiration and guide.

As a social entrepreneur, Sonal endeavors to take well-known but complex social challenges and retell them in powerful ways that challenge convention: bringing acid-attack survivors to the catwalk in London Fashion Week and curating an ethical luxury fashion line to give a voice to Indian artisans.

Sonal graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics and Management Studies. She started her career as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company, in both the UK and India and is now the Chief Executive Officer of )10, GMSP charitable Foundation, which works to fundamentally improve the rights and lives of vulnerable women and girls. She is also Head of Global Partnerships at award-winning global initiative, Think Equal, which is currently working across 12 countries to bring a systems change in education.
