Sundarakanda, the fifth section of the nonpareil epic, Śrīvālmikirāmāyaṇa revealed by Bhagavan Vālmīki, shines as a beacon of eternal light. Within its 2800 verses lies enshrined, many an invaluable lesson, personified in the one perfected soul Hanuman. Hanuman, the protagonist of the Sundarakanda, is a paradigmatic Bhakta (devotee), model emissary, warrior redoubtable, saviour supreme, preceptor peerless and scourge paramount. Every endeavour he engaged in was profundity incarnate. Not a single deed excites criticism of excess. Not one deed that had to be done was left undone, and not a single deed demands better execution.
