We the Indians are by the grace of the Almighty, fortunate enough to inherit an invaluable treasure of Indic knowledge and wisdom embodied in the works authored by great scholars and intellectuals of our country. Since its inception in pre-historic India, the seers and teachers of the vast Vedic literature that make up the Vedic lore have enriched the treasure trove of India's multifaceted heritage with their insightful and analytical world view. Scholars both Vedic and post Vedic kept enriching this literary treasure down the ages through their intellectual pursuits in various fields of studies like religion, philosophy, cosmology and cosmogony, social and political ideals of the masses, hermeneutics, exegesis and so on.
Twelve topics related to Indic studies have been included in this book. These topics have been widely studied and many Indologists and Sanskritists of repute have written scholarly articles on them. This book is my attempt to bring forth different facets of these topics and my perception of their significance. My deliberations in the articles are undeniably influenced by the works of other scholars on these topics and I am thankful to them for the insights that I have gained.
