Mahatma Gandhi is one of the greatest revolutionaries the world has ever seen, only his revolutions were bloodless and peaceful. Gandhi's idealism is certainly a reaching and striving for the highest and best int human capacity to learn and grow, to share and understand. 'Gandhism' is a body of ideas that describes the inspiration, vision and the life work of Mohandas Gandhi. It is particularly associated with his contributions to the idea of nonviolent resistance, sometimes also called civil resistance. The two pillars of Gandhism are truth and non-violent. Bhupen Goswami born on 26th March, 1970 in Jorhat , Assam. He is a renowned Sociologist and Feminist Scholar. He has been Distinguished Scholar-Teacher. He completed his bachelor's and Master's degrees from Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh, Assam and obtained his Ph.D. degree from Tezpur University, Tezpur, Assam. He is an Independent Researcher. He is Member of Editorial Board, Associate Editor & Chief Editor for many National and International Journals. His areas of interest revolve around Urban Sociology, Social Psychology, Qualitative Research and Development Studies.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869, at Porbandar, in the present- day Indian state of Gujarat. His father was the dewan (chief minister) of Porbandar; his deeply religious mother was a devoted practitioner of Vaishnavism (worship of the Hindu god Vishnu), influenced by Jainism, an ascetic religion governed by tenets of self-discipline and nonviolence. At the age of 19, Mohandas left home to study law in London at the Inner Temple, one of the city's four law colleges. Upon returning to India in mid-1891, he set up a law practice in Bombay, but met with little success. He soon accepted a position with an Indian firm that sent him to its office in South Africa. Along with his wife, Kasturbai, and their children, Gandhi remained in South Africa for nearly 20 years.
