So far as, there is the context of India, it is important to analyse its foreign policy and national interest to understand it's relations with other countries since last seven decades. India have seen so many changes and rise- falls during these seven decades. India achieved independence on August 15, 1947 and after that India faced horrible situation of cold war between the two power blocks. Keeping in view, these circumstances and Indias economic needs, Jawaharlal Nehru adopted the policy of Non alignment. India tried to maintain friendly relations with all the countries, particularly with It's neighbours.
India have always supported the U.N. Policies and have always opposed all type of imperialism, colonialism and racialism. The policy of Non-alignment and the five principles of "Panch sheel" are the great contribution of India to the developing and developed nations of the world.
