Sri Haragopal Sepuri hails from a family with spiritual background, that had settled in Cuddapah district of Andhra Pradesh. He was graduated from College of Engineering, Anantapur in the discipline of Civil Engineering in 1957. After a brief career of two years in the Highways department at Cuddapah, he joined Neyveli Lignite Corporation in December 1959 and retired from its service in July 1992 as Chief Engineer.
Though by profession he is an Engineer, deep inside him burns a thirst for knowledge and service to humanity. Behavioural science and Homoeopathy fascinated him very much. He took up self-study of Homoeopathy in 1960. He attributes his passion for Homoeopathy, to his initial success in treating his friends which he calls "Beginner's luck, and to the writings of James Taylor Kent. He calls Homoeopathy a medico-spiritual science, since its philosophy is based on the spirit of man. And its therapeutics are beyond the reach of the physical and chemical science of the present day. He believes that this system forms a synthesis of Spirit and Matter.
His evolution took a faster course after he came under the grace of His Holiness Yogi Ramsuratkumar, the God-child Tiruvannamalai, in South India. He is the author of the books, "Experiences with Yogi Ramsuratkumar," "The essence of the teachings of Pagal Haranath." "Further experiences with Yogi Ramsuratkumar," *Yogi Ramsuratkumar as I understood him," "Haranath, the Deliverer of Mankind," and "Pagal Haranath Letters (Abridged)."
He was never tempted to practise Homoeopathy as a profession. From the beginning he practised it as a service to the alling. irrespective of whether they happened to be affluent or poor. This he did without detriment to his career as an Engineer.
The uniqueness of Homoeopathy is its unchanging principles, which are beyond speculation and ambiguity. The whole edifice of Homoeopathy is built on lasting principles. The main objective of this book is for highlighting the importance of principles of Homoeopathy. The success of this unique system hinges on these principles. Therefore, I have circumvented the introduction and entered straight into the narration of my experiences in the practice of Homoeopathy and of my conclusions in support of the principles of Homoeopathy. This is therefore not a reference book. Some of my friends suggested that the book should be made as a book of guidance. There are enough books on therapeutics in Homoeopathy in the market. And a scrutiny of these books reveals that no set of experiences could make a complete guidance. The practice of Homoeopathy would ever remain an "ART," notwithstanding assistance from computers. The excellence of this art would depend upon the sincerity and involvement of the physician. Therefore, I resisted myself to yield to the suggestions of my friends and refrained from compiling a book of guidance, which would be nothing but a collection from the therapeutic books in circulation.
Though I have practiced Homoeopathy from 1961 onwards, it never occurred to me that I have to share my experiences with others, apart from what we the local Homoeopaths of Neyveli shared during the get-togethers. In the first instance I had to be sure that I had the right knowledge. If, not sharing the knowledge with others is considered a sin, then sharing ignorance is equally a sin.
I might not have attained perfection in my practice; however, my failures are only indicative of my own inadequacy, and not a failure of the system. Therefore, wherever I have had success on account of having followed the Homoeopathic principles, I have put forth in the pages of this book, not as a sign of personal laurel but as a proof of the credibility of Homoeopathic philosophy and principles.
I have also described a few failures, to illustrate to the readers that the failures were the failures of an individual and not of the system.
