For about half a century, Raja Rammohun Roy's works are out of print. It is a pity that the writings of the greatest leader of modern Indian renaissance are beyond the reach of the people whom he had served. We consider it a sacred duty to bring them within reach of the public as it is idle to theorise about perfect editions when the original texts are not available for easy reference. We have tried to make the books as accurate as possible. In order to make the Raja's works available to the largest number of people, the price has been fixed low and the parts have been divided according to subjects. After reprinting the complete works, an additional volume will be published containing critical and bibliographical notes. An up-to-date biography of the Raja will form a separate volume.
