Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha, a knower of the Supreme Truth, has guided numerous seekers towards the invaluable goal of Self-realization, transforming their lives into one of joy and contentment. Swamiji’s interpretation of Bhagavadgita, Sreemad Bhagavatam, Upanishads and other spiritual texts, coming from his experiential depth and mastery of Self-realization, inspires seekers with the liberating touch of the transcendental knowledge.
Receiving diksa (spiritual initiation) from Baba Gangadhara Paramahamsa of Dakshinkhanda, West Bengal, Swamiji embraced sannyasa at the age of 23. Dedicating his life for the welfare of mankind, he has been relentlessly disseminating spiritual wisdom of Vedanta for over 50 years, with rare clarity, practicality and openness, to seekers all over the world.
“The Source in you is neither inert nor sentient It is the cause of both. Describe It as eloquently as you like — It will remain ineffable. It is this ineffable Presence (if you can use the word presence) that gives rise to 1’ the Subject and also the objects the ‘I’ perceives. To give rise to this distinction and thereby to the hide and seek game, is Its wont, it appears.”
Many readers of our monthly journal “Vicharasetu — The Path of Introspection” have mentioned about the uniqueness of the “Correspondence” section of the journal. Whatever be the spiritual worth and loftiness of the other articles, many readers find the correspondence more appealing in that they can easily relate to themselves the doubts and problems of the seekers’ minds and the corresponding enlightening replies and inspiring guidance given by Rojya Swamiji.
After all, more than a subject of philosophical study, Brahmavidya is a saadhana to be practiced, a truth to be understood and lived. That is why the direct guidance of a realized Teacher becomes indispensable on this path. Doubts and questions crop up in the seeker’s mind because of some basic ignorance about the real nature of our mind and its fulfillment. And this ignorance being ever the same, the answers and solutions mostly have a universal and eternal appeal.
The present volume contains a very rich collection of correspondence, covering various important aspects of seeker’s life and pursuit. Precious thoughts and directions contained in it regarding devotee’s behaviour and his role in ensuring the welfare of the society, will perhaps make the volume equally attractive and useful to any thinker in general. Facts and truths of human life and its ultimate pursuit have been presented with stunning openness, force and clarity.
Many devotees have participated in the preparation of this book. The effort will be amply rewarded if the book reaches the aspiring hearts and gives them light and inspiration.
