The book presents a clear picture of three important aspects in Shree Shree MA Anandamayee's life, perhaps rarely thus brought out before.
• It is the heart-rending story of an early near-atheist from the ranks of the army, his early association with MA and then his gradual irreversible transformation to a totally dedicated soul, to whom MA was the be-all and end-all of everything. His story is truly inspiring for any devotee.
• MA's life journey through the 30s and 40s, starting from Shimla and then onto Delhi, North and East India, spreading the 'Hare Krishna' chant with Her unique participation and by Her enthusiastic devotees, is the focus of this book. The narrative provides unbelievable accounts of senior government officials, the cream of society, the rich and the poor coming together to chant 'Hare Krishna' in praise of the lord continuously through the day. The author often led the kirtan sessions and was instrumental in founding the famous 'Delhi Kirtan Group' from amongst the devotees of MA. Iconic singers like Biren da, Noni da, Bibhu da and others participated in numerous Nam Yajnas (kirtan sessions) in the august presence of MA at various places.
• The book also gives an insight into how MA's aura and magnetism inspired Her male and female devotees alike and how this helped towards women's emancipation in the manner the women were drawn out of the confines of their homes and participated in the celebrations with enthusiasm and abandon with full approval of the society of the times.

I am finally inducing myself to the task of compiling the second volume, partly due to the requests made by the well-wishing devotees of MA, partly for my own satisfaction.
The night is closing in upon me, my world is enveloped in hopelessness and misgiving, my sight is failing. At this inopportune moment I feel like bringing out certain undesirable truths. A certain loving and enchanting face and a pair of tender wide-open eyes that are ever ingrained in my impure mind seem to constantly urge me to write. Bewitching and charming my wild emotions and unrestrained patience day after day, they have kept alive within me those sweet memories. My incapacity reveals itself at every step, my ways are impure, yet I am not being ignored by Her. Overlooking my countless shortcomings, She has been constantly drawing me closer into Her affectionate embrace, and this has emboldened me more and more every day.
Words about Shree Shree MA are, like Harinam, eternally sweet and beneficial, and there can be no question regarding time or place or whether a person is deserving or not. Therefore, I feel I have every right to discuss the subject. Certainly, each person's attitude is different and there is room for argument there. However, even that argument is to do with Shree Shree MA Anandamayee. So, ultimately, things must end in Ananda, in bliss.
I no longer need to depend on my memory in order to put the incidents down on paper, because now they come on their own. I am therefore trying my best to put them down in all their details, as a result of which excesses are likely to appear now and then.
