In the year 1979, a status paper was prepared as a result of several studies completed according to the blue print. These events and continuous discussion sessions led to the revision and revision of this monograph. Ultimately, it was decided that the monograph may focus on certain basic concepts of motivation, its correlates and its development in classrooms. Hence, the monograph is titled as, “Developing concern for Excellence in Classrooms ".
The aim of the monograph is, to describe precisely; the basic concepts in Part I, to give the findings related to its correlates in part II, the concepts related to classrooms in part III, and the results and experiments in the development of motivation in part IV.
Now, the CASE has reached a stage; wherein, to-day, it is being observed that a number of useful studies have been con- ducted; but, it is necessary to switch on towards some studies which may contribute to the in-depth of the concepts of motivation. As a result, an answer could be found to certain areas under investigation as follows:
What are the various psychological components contributing in success of the people?
What are the motivational processes contributing to the effectiveness of an organization?
⚫ How can we analyse the biographies of the great personalities from the motivational point of view?
What are the specific family influences in various communities leading to high n.Ach. and thereafter, better achievement? With the above questions in view, a seminar has been planned for the next academic year, to thrash out the vital issues like, the development and the differences in n.Ach. in various cultures and communities, and to further probe into the concept of motivation.
It is with this hope that, this monograph will be useful to researchers and teacher educators for the enhancement of the various researches in the areas of motivation.
