About the Book

Set in the early 1910s, this historical fiction takes us through the shift of the capital from Calcutta to Delhi in British India, the Imperial Durbar, and the attempted assassination of Viceroy Hardinge at the State Entry of 1912-a defining moment of Indian nationalism. Through the eyes of the protagonist, Tarshi, a curious and ambitious 17-year-old who makes his way into a Secret Society, the readers get to meet towering personalities of the Indian Independence Movement like Rash Behari Bose, Basant Kumar Biswas, and Awadh Behari and see how they influence Tarshi's life. A tribute to silent yet active participants of the Struggle for Independence, this is a story of how the quest for freedom and resilience inspires budding revolutionaries to create history and offer the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Situated in an era of dramatic political events, this book provides a glimpse into the life of revolution tied together with humour, wit, and the warmth of friendship.
