Pabbar valley has rich possibilities of research in archaeology, ethnology, art, architecture and cultural traditions. The countryside in the valley is agricultural with well-laid apple orchards on the arable mountain slopes. The deep forests of cedar and oak, the heights crowned with snow, temples adorned with fascinating craftsmanship, art and crafts, fair and festivals that are the nerve centres of the religious and cultural life of the inhabitants. The present volume is an outcome of a comprehensive study of art and culture of the valley.
Dr. Hari Chauhan born at a small village Nanadpur tehsil Jubbal district Shimla, Himachal Pradesh in January. He did his B. Sc (Medical) from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and Post Graduation in Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology and completed his Doctor of Philosophy from H. N.B. Garhwal Central University Sri Nagar, Uttrakand. He served as a Curator, Bhuri Singh Museum Chamba and presently working as Registering Officer (Antiquities) Himachal Pradesh.
