Within its pages lie over 60 illuminating case studies, each offering meticulous scrutiny of subjects ranging from adoption and IVF to surrogacy and, intriguingly, the uncharted territory of frozen eggs. Notably, all horoscopes featured in this book are drawn from the personal databank of the authors, making it an indispensable resource for budding astrologers embarking on their journey and seasoned practitioners venturing further into the enchanting universe of astrology.

Preface

This book has been written with a view to follow the principles given in the classics and apply them in context to an ever-changing world. The idea is to show a practical application of the principles and rules. In our short journey in astrology, we have been blessed with meeting people who have trusted us to help them in their queries and have shared their stories with us.

We have tried to keep the analysis limited to the Lagna chart (D-1) and the Navamsha chart (D-9) and other divisional charts that are related to children such as Saptamsha (D-7) for children, Dwadashamsha D-12 for parents and Trishamsha D-30 for arisht. We have also taken into consideration aspects in divisional charts. Even though there are conflicting views regarding aspects in divisional charts, we have in our practical experience found that aspects give a more accurate picture and have therefore, taken them into account while analyzing divisional charts. However, the promise of the D-1 chart takes precedence. Nakshatras and Dashas have been discussed wherever necessary.

Foreword

I met Neera Sawhney Chopra and Ridhhi Kapoor when they were already well entrenched in the field of Numerology and had expressed their keen desire to learn Astrology. Both were quick to learn and grasp the intricacies and nuances of Astrology and we have had some wonderfully stimulating discussions regarding the need to apply the dictums from the classics in a modern context.

In this book, they have endeavoured to achieve what they strived for. They have chosen to discuss a topic which is an important and integral part of life. The need to pass on our heritage, culture and history is strongly linked to our progeny. And with the various advancements in this field, a need to reanalyse and bring new research in context to the modern world is needed.

They have spent their time in researching Surrogacy, Adoption and Frozen eggs and given astrologers a starting ground to further the research which is at its nascent stage. They have worked hard to analyse varied methods of identifying the combinations which could point towards these new advancements in the field of children.

Introduction

From a study of the early scriptures, we get the picture that it was a progressive and inclusive society which accepted all categories of children with no stigmas attached. E.g. In Mahabharata times Niruktajah (when name of father is not known), Datta (adopted child), Kanina (a child born to an unmarried woman). However, as society started becoming more rigid and became less and less inclusive it led to a number of taboos and stigmas.

The focus on having a child was to carry on the name and legacy of the family hence the importance of a male child.

Now with the vast changes that have, and are, taking place around us, we have realized that there is a need to re-evaluate certain guidelines that the classics have provided us with. With the changes in our socio- economic environment and the strides that science has taken there is an urgent need to tweak the parameters and bring them into alignment with the times.
