Meaning-The Sun God is the giver of good health, moon of fame in its purest form, Kuja of all kind of wealth, Buddha of good character, Guru of prosperity, Shukra of elequence, Shani of happiness, Rahu of unchallanged status and Ketu of prosperity to the entire generation. According to the Sanskrit shlokas given above, our saints who wrote down the texts on the subject had kept in mind the influence of the sun, the moon, the soul of this universe, the effect of other planets and their heat and light on the earth and it's living beings, earth's atmosphere, wind, it's directions, earth's magnetic field, gravitational force and various other factors. Astronomy is the foundation of Astrology and together with calandar play an important role in different aspects of Vastu Shastra, eg, deciding the right time and the day to commence construction work. Due to the complex nature of the subject we have given brief information of Astrology and Hindu calandar in the first few chapters.

Complete Vastu Shastra (science of house, commercial complex and temple construction) is the first book based on the ancient architecture in which 'Bhawan sthapatya kala' has been given elaborately. It tells in which direction should the entrance gate be, where and in which direction should be 'pooja ghar, drawing room, bedroom, study room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, toilets, septic tank, drainage pipeline, varandah, stair case, water tank, parking, trees, etc. It also discusses the merit of land and the 'mahurta (auspicious moments) for construction. The shape of the plot plays a vital role in site selection.A house constructed as per the principles of Vastu Shastra will definitely yield good results and lead to happiness of the inhabitant. On the other hand a house built without following the tenets of Vastu results in great misery and unhappiness to them. Since the science of Vastu is secular and universal, it does not distinguish between caste and creed. Just as light, space, water, heat and nature do not place any restriction on their users, the science of Vastu also throws open its tenets to humanity at large.
