The materials presented here were not originally intended for publication in the form of a book. In fact these are not even talks or lectures in the conventional sense of the term. In modern parlance, they are records of Q&A sessions led by me in various organizations. On going through the records, and thinking about them, I felt that they exemplify a method of learning so competently practiced in ancient time. This method is characterized by different questions posed by students and the guru's answers to them. I have compiled these questions and answers in book form to make the benefit of the ideas scattered in tapes and transcripts available to a larger audience.
As a result, this book has its own unstructured structural well-formedness. Besides, despite the best efforts on our part, there may be some repetitions and reformulations as questions asked and answered at different times may cover the same idea space. This probably is an advantage because recurrence of some themes points to the relevance of the ideas across different contexts of time, places, and persons associated with the programmes. If parts of the book sound like casual conversation, it is because that was their primary form.
As you read the book, you will realize that a concern for clarity of thought overrides all other concerns in my workshops. I have striven hard to cultivate this virtue myself and to achieve it in my speech and writing.
I wish you a happy and profitable reading experience.
