Foreword:

We are happy to bring out this volume of Brahmavidya, the Adyar Library Bulleting, as a Festschrift for Professor Ludo Rocher whose Sastyabdapurti occurred recently. Prof. Rocher is an Indologist of eminence with a number of important publications to his credit. He has been the guide and teacher of many brilliant students and this Volume is comprised exclusively of articles written by his students. Professor Ludo Rocher and Mrs Rosane Rocher have both been closely associated with the work and activities of the Adyar Library and Research Centre. We are pleased that this association is further strengthened by the publication of this Volume.
