Within our present ISKCON society many of our artists who were present at the time when our beloved spiritual master Srila Prabhupada was on this earth are aware of a cherished desire which he expressed to them. Srila Prabhupada wanted that his artists paint a picture to illustrate each verse of the Bhagavad-Gita. In this book we have endeavored to fulfill this desire of Srila Prabhupada.

This are the instructions in the Bhagavad-Gita everything practical. If we follow Bhagavad-Gita from all angles of vision social political economical, religious, cultural we will be perfect. This is Bhagavad-Gita. We have therefore taken up this mission to preach Bhagavad-Gita as it is to solve all the problems of the world.

“One may cleanse himself daily by taking a bath in water but if one takes a bat even once in the sacred Ganges water of Bhagavad-Gita for him the dirt of material life is altogether vanquished”.

“This Gitopanisad Bhagavad-Gita the essence of all the Upanishads is just like a cow and lord Krishna who is famous as a cowherd boy is milking this cow. Arjuna is just like a calf and learned scholars and pure devotees are to drink the nectarean milk of Bhagavad-Gita”.

Bhagavad-Gita is the song of God sung by lord Krsna to his Friend and disciple Arjuna. We many sometimes wonder that if there is a god what would he look like? To answer all such showed everyone his beautiful form and amazing pastimes. We may question why would god want to come to this mortal world?

About 500 years ago one king named Akbar asked the same question of his minister Birbal who was a greatly learned scholar. Birbal did not answer at once but waited for some time. One day the king’s small grandson fell into a pond and was drowning. The king quickly took of all his fine ornaments and clothes and jumped into the water to save his small grandson. In the same way Lord Krsna comes here to speak words of wisdom that will save us from our anxieties and sufferings in this world and to attract us to join with him in his eternal pastimes in the world of transcendence.

In Bhagavad-Gita Krsna speaks not only to Arjuna but to all people in all countries of all religious and for all times. Krsna claims all of us the animals as his own. In Bhagavad-Gita, Krsna shows his concern for us by advice how to live happily to this world and beyond. Sincere seekers will find in Bhagavad-Gita eternal principles of truth that illuminate like’s journey. Those who face great challenges in life will solutions to problems and great meaning and purpose to life. Krsna’s words in Bhagavad-Gita give nourishment for the mind solace to the heart and help us to face life with renewed enthusiasm and hope.
