Omprakash Srivastava Babloo, a native from Gazipur, Uttar Pradesh has a lifelong affair with books. Born on October 14 1962, he got his primary education from AS Jubilee College Mirzapur and was awarded the degree of B.A. L.L.B. from Lucknow University. The author is not a professional fiction writer. But he has tried his level best to bring this manuscript up to the mark and to the standards of mainstream literature. This book brings to front the unheard facts and the dark sides of the crime world. The author has made tremendous efforts in writing this book so that the society takes something positive out of it. Also, he hopes that the police force would be smart enough to rectify the security and legal system in this country so that the criminals might not underestimate them. The book has an undercurrent of simplicity, authenticity and curiosity, as well as a message to all its readers, who can find something to their interest in each and every page of this novel. I hope that my well wishers and readers will find this novel interesting and informative and keep extending their invaluable cooperation so that I may continue giving them some of the best fictions in near future.
We all know very well that pen is mightier than sword. It has full potential to raise a society to unforeseen heights as well as the capability to drag the humanity into the irksome darkness of grief and vulnerability. This was quite visible in my earlier books 'Ayodhya Vivad' and 'Godhra'. A little dis traction of pen can bring destruction and devastation to the society at large. There are two sides to any person, which are comple mentary to each other. In the present work, the author has tried his best to bring both of these facets to forefront so that the reader might get some awareness about the darker side of so ciety in an entertaining but informative way at the same time. The book has an undercurrent of simplicity, authenticity and curiosity, as well as a message to all its readers, who can find something to their interest in each and every page of this novel. I am sure that the subject and its presentation in the present form will appeal to all the readers. All the characters in this novel have no existence outside or inside the imagination of the author, and have no relation whatsoever to anyone bearing the same name or names. Any individual known or unknown, has not even distantly inspired the author. I would like to place on record my heartiest thanks to Shri Nitin Garg (Radha Publications, Daryaganj, New Delhi), on whose inspiration this novel could have been possible. My thanks are also due to Mr. Satish Verma (Nai Sadi Publica tions, New Delhi), who published the best-selling edition of this book in Hindi entitled 'Adhoora Khwab'. I would like to acknowledge Shri Ram Ugrah Shukla (Advocate), Lucknow, Mr. Sandeep Jain, Dehradun and Mr. Ashutosh Nigam, Lucknow, who could take the best out of me in spite of my otherwise busy schedule. Originally, this book was written by Omprakash Srivastava 'Babloo' on the inspiration from his brother and friend Shri Ranjit Bahadur Srivastava in whose guidance the Hindi title "Adhoora Khwab" came out. After much acclaim and popularity among masses, the need was felt to introduce the English version of the same title after incorporating cer tain modifications and amendments in the original script. All the slackness has been removed and the effort has been made to breathe some pace into the story. Finally, I must admit that my Mother, Father and my younger brother Amit observed marvelous patience in sparing several weekends and evenings which kept me absolutely oc cupied with this write up and I express my deep sense of grati tude to them. I prospect that my well wishers and readers will find this novel quite absorbing and informative and keep extending their invaluable cooperation so that I may continue giving them some of the best fictions in near future.
