A Popular History of Hindu Medicine is a desideratum in English Literature: - and yet the growing spirit of age calls for a systematic arrangement of the subject. It now remains to add that the materials of this sketch were mostly gleaned from the monumental work of Dr. Thomas A. Wise, to the genius of whose pen the world is indebted for a comprehensive Review of the History of Medicine.
