Book Description
About the Book

Tibetan Buddhism has prevailed in the Indian sub-continent for a very long time. It is a known fact that the emergence of Buddhism was and is credited to India, and there is no doubt about its existence in the sub-continent. Tibetan Buddhism that prevailed in Tibet, and which to some extent still exists there, has also migrated into and found its base in some places within India especially after 1959 when the migration that took place. Prior to 1959, there existed constant relations between the two nations (India and Tibet) which had seen the doors open for religious tolerance and intermingling. In this book apart from Tibetan Buddhism, a research is done on the history, culture, and different religions of these regions. Proper examination has been also done on influence and effects of these other religions as well as Tibetan Buddhism. Though not many residing in the area would know about the term bKa rDor sGang gSum much weightage is given to the words which represent a broad area of people who share similar religion to the neighboring country of Tibet. There are different hypotheses on the origin of the word bKa rDor sGang gSum and these differ immensely from one another.
