Of course, there is a dearth of books on History of Assam in the market. The book of ours does not claim any originality, hence, it is based on early books and other informations. From ancient times, mankind recognised the impact and significance of history as the story of man and as a subject matter of study. It gained a status of prominence in stages among different areas of intellectual curiosity. Hence, the history of Assam has a great value, it also made its beginning as a definite branch of knowledge. During the last few years, steps have been made to renovate the structure of education of our country, i.e., India, hence, a new structure of education and curriculum has been implemented for the entire country. Of course, the subject history makes an important components of social sciences.

The book 'Assam's History and its Graphics' is a reference cum course book which deals with almost all sources and aspects of history teaching. Therefore, emphasise has been given to the aims, nature, philosophy and scope of history. It too signifies the values and norms of learning and teaching history.
