Founded in 2000, studio archohm is a leading Indian architecture and design firm, known for its versatile and multifaceted work and out-of-the-box innovations in design. Both as a physical and a philosophical place, through its hardware and software, archohm represents a dialogue, a collage, of materials, forms, feelings, functions and inspirations. And their acclaimed studio in the NCR of Delhi, c28c, reflects their design ethos.

In this book, studio archohm demonstrates how c280 was conceived with a first principle approach to ensure an effective and efficient architectural solution From concept to construction, every detail was dwelled upon so as to express and exhibit the environmentconscious philosophy of the office. A live canvas, the exhibit of materials, colours, textures and play of forms, make the studio a three-dimensional design laboratory and library.

This one-of-a-kind book shows how their architecture is conceived through volumes and forms, materials and light. If vividly narrates how they met challenges head-on, resolved the many labyrinthine issues and took on the responsibility of placing the building's architecture and its attitude in a contemporary Indian context. It shares the story of a gratifying journey of the design process and demonstrates how life can be lived through design.

Sourabh Gupta is the founder of studio archohm. He attended the esteemed School of Architecture, CEPT University, in Ahmedabad, India, and graduated magna cum laude. With the insight provided by the best in the realm of architecture there, coupled with a stint at the acclaimed architecture faculty at the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, and most importantly, propelled by a compulsive need to design, travel and explore, Sourabh started his professional practice, studio archohm.

With a series of design competitions and commissions, archohm has grown leaps and bounds in the decade and a half thereafter. Today, the practice has evolved in terms of the typology and scale of architectural works and diversified successfully into furniture and product design, infrastructure and urban solutions, and recently even made a foray into design education and publication. At the age of 40, with over 15 years of experience in architecture and urban design, Sourabh is known for his capabilities in envisioning client issues and conceptualizing design solutions. His passion for detail and keen insight into diverse fields help him lead his initiatives towards the highest level of design quality. You can catch him evolving the master plan of a city in the morning, enhancing the light quality of an institute at noon and designing a chair in the evening, all in the same day.

Sourabh has a comprehensive vision and an understanding of the impact architecture and design can have on society.

He loves badminton, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's music and Hoegaarden. An avid reader and a wanderer, he is on a perpetual design expedition'.
