The Book "Archaeology of the Chotanagpur Division (Jharkhand)" is the Thesis of the Author for his Ph.D. Degree, which was awarded to him from Magadh University Bodhgaya in January 2004. The book is unique for its salient features. Though already some scholars have worked in this area, the Author has specially worked in this region, which has been named now Jharkhand State. He has thoroughly and extensively explored this region, the result that has come out in this present book form.

Dr. D. Bhengra was born on 12th November 1949. He was graduated from St. Columbus College, Hazaribagh and did his post-graduation from Patna University in Ancient Indian History and Archaeology.

He joined. State Archaeology Department of Bihar in 1974 and later joined Archaeological Survey of India as a Deputy Sup. Archaeologist in 1976. He worked as a Sup. Archaeologist in various circles and branches of A.S.I. since 1985. Presently working as Director (Prehistory), Prehistory Branch, Nagpur.
