There is a great difference of opinion over the exact identity of organ "Kloma' in the Ayurvedic Rachana Sharir (Anatomy). There is reference to this organ in Vedas, Upanishadas, Smriti Granthas, Puranas and in all the classical Ayurvedic texts. This signifies the importance of this organ. This organ is said to be the root of water carrying system. Ancient Ayurvedic physicians and surgeons carried out the human dissection and gave the names to different organs. Most of these organs find proper correlation with organs found in the body using modern dissection techniques but the identity of Kloma still remains elusive.
