Shree Anandamayee Ma was born in Bengal and lived there for over thirty-three years. Naturally, she has numerous devotees and admirers in Bengal. Hence, I wrote a book in Bengali under the title Mayer Lila-Katha. But in view of the fact that MA has at present a fast-growing vast number of devotees and admirers outside Bengal and even in foreign countries (U.K. U.S.A., Canada, Germany, France, etc.), I have produced this book, which is virtually a free English translation of the Bengali book.
The purpose of the book is two-fold. Firstly, I am sure that the book will afford unalloyed delight to countless devotees and admirers of MA all over the globe. Secondly, I honestly believe that the detailed accounts, gives in the book, of MA’s important roles of both Saviour and Purifier in my long, eventful life will generate in many readers residing in Sates and countries outside Bengal, genuine attraction and reverence for MA, and therefore, for Almighty and Merciful God and thereby secure for them easy deliverance from difficult and trying situations and total freedom from embarrassing human weaknesses, enabling them to lead healthy, peaceful, contented and happy lives, both individual and collective.
May MA’s benign benedictions help the book fulfil the two-fold purpose
