Adi Sankaracarya is one of the greatest personalities born in India. His enormous contribution to Indian Philosophy is revealed through his monumental writings specially his Bhasyas of Prasthantrayi, Through his digvijaya, he also re-organised the whole society and re-established the traditions of Sanatana Dharma. As he had acquired fame during his life time itself, a vast mass of floating literature attributed to him came into existence. This corpus of literature carries the distinct stamp of the vision and philosophy of Adi Sankaracarya, His major works have been published in several editions. But the minor works of Adi Sankaracarya are not readily available. Dr. Gautam Vadilal Patel has made laudable efforts by presenting this volume of the Adi Sankara Laghuprabandhavalih.

Dr. Patel is well known scholar of Veda and Sankara Vedanta. He has also trained himself by modern method of textual criticism and manuscripts studies. He has not only taken pains to collect numerous minor works of Adi Sankaracarya by the way of visiting Mathas and Libraries through out the nooks and corners of the country, he has also meticulously edited all these works to form this volume. On behalf of the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, I convey my thanks to Prof. Patel. I hope that this publication will re-generate interest in the study of works by Sankaracarya.
