Preface
The transcendental life-stories of great Acharyas, who are the carrier and preserver of the mandakini (sacred river Ganges) flow of unalloyed devotion as propounded by Sriman Mahaprabhu, are extremely munificent and grave, and it indescribable. Understanding the significance of their life should be the only goal of a single-minded devotee. Everyone in the path of devotion must follow their footsteps - ‘mahajana jeno gato sa pantha’ (Mahabharata 313/117). To put this into our practice, we need to comprehend their biographies. Those who have realized Krishna, teach us about Krishna, and who help us to attain Krishna, to study their heart is an essential duty of a practicing devotee. There are lots of hurdles to keep pace with time and age. Due to lack of time, it has also become difficult to study scriptures or to discuss them elaborately - be it a temple life or a householder life. Along with this, in today’s world everyone is somehow attracted to the external splendour of everything. Considering these two aspects for those who are in the path of devotion, we are bringing out this portrait ‘Acharyas of Gaudiya Mission: A Portrait’ to attract them towards the message, character and transcendental beauty of the great Acharyas. This Volume, in the form of a portrait, depicts briefs biographies with rare photographs, qualities, contributions and messages of great Gaudiya Acharyas - Shrila Bhakti Vinode Thakur, the original personality behind the Gaudiya Mission, Shrila Bhakti Sidhanta Saraswati Prabhupad, the founder Acharya of Gaudiya Mission, and from whom they received the inspiration to preach through proper practice, i.e., Shrila Jagannath Das Babaji and Shrila Gaur Kishor Das Babaji and the subsequent Acharyas like Shrila Bhakti Prasad Puri Goswami, Shrila Bhakti Pradip Tirtha Goswami, Shrila Bhakti Keval Audulomi Maharaj, Shrila Bhakti Srirup Bhagavat Maharaj and Shrila Bhakti Suhrid Paribrajak Maharaj.
