Somnath Hore (An Old and Rare Book)

About the Book

Somnath Hore is a well-known creative personality in the realm of contemporary art in India. Trained basically as a painter, he has proved of his sensitiveness in other media of expression. However, for over two decades, he has been devoting himself mostly to printmaking, switching at times to metal sculpture. Prints today have attained a new stature and come to be considered as independent and powerful art media, primarily due to relentless efforts on the part of a band of dedicated printmakers. In this context, the unique position Somnath Hore occupies, both in terms of experiments and teaching, has been particularly discussed in the present exhaustive study on the artist.
