Call him Anandi (bringer of joy); Bhutakrit (Maker of beings); Dhata (the carrier of all) of Govinda (the cowherd boy). They are all different names of Vishnu, the chanting of which evokes in us a religious fervour and helps us focus on the Almighty.

Lord Vishnu, the Creator, the Preserver and the Destroyer, is considered to be the Supreme Deity in Hindu pantheism. He is attributed with a thousand names, a thousand faces, a thousand hands -His names and forms are endless, and each name is significant to His devotees.
