Thirty children's books, including both fiction and non-fiction, have been written and published by the writer, editor, publisher, and advocate for children's literature Santanoo Tamuly. He is the editor of Natun Awiscar, a children's popular science magazine founded in 1988, and Mouchaq, a children's monthly published since 1984. The majority of his novels are released by Mouchaq Prakashan, his own publishing company. He planned and led two significant workshops funded by the National Book Trust of India, as a result of which he created 20 manuscripts for kids between the ages of 8 and 11 in 2000.
Sri Tamuly received the National Award and the Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puraskar for his remarkable work in promoting science to young people.
