Book Description

प्रस्तावना संस्कृत गीतिकाव्य परम्परा में गीतिगोविन्द के लेखक जयदेव का स्थान सर्वोच्च माना जाता है। उत्कल क्षेत्र के बाह्मण कुल में जन्में जयदेव किन्दुबिल्व ग्राम के निवासी थे। इनके पिता भोजदेव तथा माता राधादेवी थी। ये भक्तिवादी विचारधारा से ओतप्रोत रहे हैं। १ २वीं शताब्दी इनका समय माना जाता है । जयदेव का विवाह देवशर्मा नामक ब्राह्मण की कन्या 'पद्मा' से हुआ था। पद्मावती पतिधर्म परायणा तथा सेवाभावी थी। जयदेव आपनी पत्नि के साथ मिलकर राधाकृष्ण की उपासना में तल्लीन रहते थे। कृष्णभक्ति के राग में इन्होंने राधाकृष्ण के शुङ्गार की अनुपम छटा का दर्शन कर उनके प्रणय को गीतात्मक स्तुति में निबद्ध कर गीतगोविन्द नामक ग्रन्थ का प्रणयन किया। द्वादश सर्गात्मक श्रीगोविन्द की परमभक्ति का स्वरूप गीतगोविन्द में जयदेव ने पदलालित्य, शब्दगाम्भीर्य, भावसौष्ठव, प्राञ्जलभावाभिव्यक्ति, तया विविध राग, ताल के साथ प्रस्तुत किया है। 'गीतगोविन्द' भगवती संस्कृत भारती के सौन्दर्य तथा माधुर्य की पराकाष्ठा है। महाकवि कालिदास की काल्यभावना में भी इस रसपेशल के मधुरभाव का दर्शन नहीं मिलता। इसमें कोमलकान्त-पदावली का सरस प्रभाव तथा मधुर कामों का मधुमय सन्निवेश है। आनन्दकन्द ब्रजचन्द्र राधिका की ललित लीलाओं का जितना ललाम वर्णन यहाँ प्राप्त होता है, वह अन्यत्र कहीं पर भी देखने को नहीं मिलता है ? शब्दमाधुर्य के लिए "ललित-लवंगलता परिशीलन-कोमल-मलय समीरे" वाली अष्टपदी का पाठ पर्याप्त है।
