Sri Swamiji says “divinity is a lesson of Endeavour and is within the reach of all irrespective of cast, society, creed, sex, colour of anything ales. Your inherent nature is divinity find out and that is your duty. If you are a Christian by faith, become a good Christian. If you are a Muslim, become pious and noble Muslim. If you are a Hindu, become a good Hindu. The divine power pervanding everywhere does not make a distinction. Yet swadharma is the best and should be practiced so love your motherland and father land.
When you meet Sri Swami Ji, you are in presence of spiritual giant without your knowing it. With his simple smile and his compassion, he puts you at ease. You open up your heart to him and narrate to him the story of your suffering. You may tell him of your spiritual progress and ask for guidance and help. When you leave him and come out, you do so with a strong conviction that you had been in the presence of one greater than you are.
The Sage Adi Shankara Acharya had stated that devotion to the lotus feet of the Sadguru was sufficient for obtaining liberation from the interminable worldly cycles of sorrow. No matter, what you are! Where you are! how you are! The benediction of the sadguru will support you in your hour of need.
No phenomenon can be understood, in the absence of an example, which is called Drushtaanta in the Shaastra. Hence, devotees need an example of the above phenomenon, stated by the Acharya. In this regard, Sri Pushkar Nath Shangloo, a devotee of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, will provide a scintillating account, which will serve the purpose of such an example.
Though, not used to writing prose or poetry, he was directed to write a book containing his experience of Sadguru and his understanding of the pronouncements of the Sri Swamiji, Enjoy this engrossing narrative and benefit from the wealth of experience and understanding possessed by this sincere devotee. Jaya Guru Datta.
Upon reading the articles written by Sri Lakshmi Prasad, a senior police officer of Tamil Nadu in South India, in Bhaktimala; a desire arose in my mind to narrate my own story- How I found my Guru. This story contains the authentication and revelation of the spiritual greatness of Sri Ganapathy Sachchiananda Swamiji by an advanced Yogi Swami Jalandharnath, Swami Jalandharnath is a direct disciple of Maha-Avtara Babaji who lived in the Himalayas, for more than two years, with his Guru.
It was my fervent desire to convey to the devotees the truth that behind the unassuming from of a Saint, our Swmiji, there exists a very powerful divine incarnation, who has descended to earth to help humanity and bring about its higher evolution.
I made enquiries about the written Sri Lakshmi Prasad, and during one of my visiting to the Ashram of Sri Swamiji at Mysore, I met her and narrated my story to her. This was in 2013. Subsequently, I had an opportunity to speak to Sri Swamiji.
During that meeting, I learnt from Sri Swamiji that Sri Lakshmi Prasad had communicated my story to Him. It seems that she had admitted that she could not comprehend the greatness of Shri Swamiji’s Avatar (Divine incarnation) fully.
Sri Swamiji then stated with great despondency that people visiting the Ashram regarded it as a commercial institution. These people had failed to realise than Sri Swamiji’s objective was to guide then in their spiritual progress.
He continued that he would assist and guide the serious spiritual seekers, without fail, and that people should not trivialise the of the Sadguru by expressing petty desires.
His Holiness instructed me to recall my experiences with him and to collate them in a book for the benefit the common devotees. This direction from Sri Swami caused consternation in me, and I wanted to tell Sri Swamiji that I did not have the capacity to undertake this task However, better sense prevailed, and I did not express my hesitation, as it would have been tantamount to expressing disobedience.
The Sadguru is Antaryami and nothing is hidden from Him, including our thoughts. He understood my predicament and hesitation and called Dr. Vamshi Krishna Ghanapathi, who was in the vicinity, and directed him to help me in my endeavour. This dispelled my misapprehensions and I offered heartfelt pranams to Sri Swamiji, and depended happily from His presence. In this manner, the seeds of this writing were sown.
Upon reading home, I dithered for some time about how to start and where to start. However, one day I realised that Sri Swamiji’s Sankalpa confers all the energy that is needed for recalling and writing. Thus, I commenced to writing and was greatly surprised to find that I was able to recall the experience in great detail. I clearly comprehended that this was the materialisation of Sri Swamiji’s Sankalpa.
