पुस्तक परिचय यह निर्विवाद है कि इक्कीसवीं शताब्दी के तीसरे दशक में ग़ज़ल के प्रति कवियों और उसके चाहने वालों का आकर्षण अपनी पराकाष्ठा पर है। दशकों तक व्यवस्था और सत्ता से संघर्षरत ग़ज़ल की दिशा और स्वर बदलने में अभीष्ट योगदान के लिए जिन ग़ज़लकारों ने सतत प्रयास किया है उनमें नवनीत शर्मा अग्रणी हैं। एक तरफ वे ग़ज़ल की समृद्ध परम्परा के ठोस धरातल पर अविचल खड़े होकर उसके आसमान में नये जीवन्त रंग भरने की कलाकारी में पारंगत हैं तो दूसरी तरफ अन्तिम पंक्ति में खड़े व्यक्ति की दुर्दशा और विवशता के कारणों को चिन्हित करते हुए उसकी आवाज़ बनने और उसे आत्मोत्थान का मन्त्र देने में भी कुशल हैं। उनके अशआर एक साहसी यात्री की तरह कल्पना के पंखों पर सवार होकर विहंगम दृष्टि से तो आकलन और जीवन्त चित्रण तो करते ही हैं, एक खोजी और जिज्ञासु की तरह भी मनुष्य तथा समाज के ढाँचे और उनकी मानसिकता की महीन पेंचदार बनावट के गूढ़ सत्य के अन्वेषक की भूमिका में दिखाई देते हैं। इस गूढ़ सत्य के सौन्दर्य और विरोधाभासों के अन्तःसम्बन्धों को सूक्ष्मता से महसूस करते हुए पूरी संवेदनशीलता के साथ उसकी बेवाक किन्तु लालित्यपूर्ण अभिव्यक्ति उनके अशआर की विशिष्टता है। नवनीत शर्मा भाषा के आधुनिक स्वरूप को स्वीकारते हुए उसके सौन्दर्य में अभिवृद्धि के लिए उसके मुहावरे के साथ प्रयोग करने में भी प्रयासरत प्रतीत होते हैं। तगुज़्जुल से लवालव इनके अशआर में सजगता से चयनित शब्दों की सटीक स्थान पर उपस्थिति, वाक्यांशों की बनावट और पंक्तियों की प्रवाहमयता सहज ही मोह लेती है। नवनीत शर्मा एक सक्षम ग़ज़लकार हैं और सक्षम ग़ज़लकार की पहचान है कि वह प्रत्येक दो पंक्तियों के स्पेस में एक ऐसा दर्पण प्रस्तुत करे जिसमें सच्चाई के चित्र न केवल दिखें वरन उसमें झाँकने वाले प्रत्येक व्यक्ति से आत्मीय सम्बन्ध भी बना सकें। इन्हीं सम्बन्धों की बहुलता और प्रगाढ़ता शे'र के सौन्दर्य और शक्ति की परिचायक होती है। नवनीत शर्मा का यह पहला ग़ज़ल-संग्रह अवश्य ही अपने कथ्य की नवीनता, विशिष्टता, विविधता और कलात्मक अभिव्यक्ति के कारण उन्हें अग्रिम पंक्ति के ग़ज़लकारों में स्थापित करेगा।

लेखक परिचय जन्म: 10 फ़रवरी 1962, दहिया, बेगूसराय (विहार)। शिक्षा: एम.ए. (स्वर्णपदक), पीएच.डी.। प्रकाशित कृतियों : सन्ताली आदिवासी महिलाएँ: अस्मिता एवं पहचान, दि ब्रिटिश सन्ताल ट्राइयल पॉलिटि (1855-1947), अबुआ राज की चुनौतियाँ और माटी एवं संस्कृति के प्रहरी: भगवान विरसा। डॉ. (प्रो.) युगल झा वर्तमान में एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर के रूप में अपनी सेवाएँ देने के साथ-साथ, समान्तर रूप से शैक्षणिक, अकादेमिक, सामाजिक एवं सांस्कृतिक क्षेत्र में भी निरन्तर सक्रिय हैं। झारखण्ड के पाकुड़ में अवस्थित के. के.एम. कॉलेज में वे राजनीतिशास्त्र के विभागाध्यक्ष भी हैं। जनजाति बहुल झारखण्ड के विशेष सन्दर्भ में लेखक की जनजातीय समस्याओं एवं अन्य मामलों में गहरी पैठ है और शिक्षण के अपने मुख्य कार्य से इतर सामाजिक, विशेषकर जनजाति समाज एवं सांस्कृतिक क्षेत्र में भी गहरी सक्रियता है। प्रोफ़ेसर झा एक उत्कृष्ट शोध निर्देशक के रूप में छात्रों को पीएच.डी. कार्य में अभिभावकीय मार्गनिर्देशन करते रहे हैं। दो दशक से अधिक समय से शैक्षणिक जगत् से जुड़े रहकर लेखक एक विशेषज्ञ वक्ता के रूप में दिल्ली समेत देश के अनेक हिस्सों में निरन्तर शैक्षणिक अकादमिक समाज को लाभान्वित कर रहे हैं। अपनी लेखनी के माध्यम से, पत्र-पत्रिकाओं एवं पुस्तक रूप में भी वे अपने समकालीन समय-समाज के प्रति सतत जागरूक एवं सतर्क हैं ।
